About Codeteam

We are a UK based agency for agencies, specialising in WordPress development, HTML email coding and frontend web development. Based in Manchester and operating within the Gooey umbrella, our developers build over 500+ websites and 1000+ emails per year, working with agencies as their freelance web team.

Our rates are similar to freelance developers, however when using CodeTeam you also get account and project managers, a QA team, backup developers and peace of mind your project will be delivered for the fixed cost agreed. Our work is also 100% white-label.

How we (typically) work

CodeTeam work as a coding partner, imagine us as a freelance web developer, so our process is simple and efficient to ensure you get the best possible service at the most cost-effective price.

  • You send us the final assets which includes the design (AI, PSD, XD, Sketch or Figma) and may also include (but doesn’t need to): mobile and tablet designs, a brief and a technical spec. We can also sign any NDA’s etc.

  • We review and provide you with a fixed cost and deadline. We put everything into a proposal so you can see exactly what you will receive.

  • The job is assigned to a Codeteam developer and the progress of the job is communicated by our Project Manager. Sometimes agencies like to speak to the developer before project-commencement to talk through the designs etc, this is fine, just let us know and we can arrange.

  • Once the developer completes the project, we pass it to our QA team who then check the website against the Codeteam spec, the designs and anything else supplied (i.e. your technical spec or brief etc) to ensure the developer has followed correctly. The QA team use BugHerd to log any issues and the developer will then fix and reply to the issues.

  • Once the Codeteam QA team is happy with all of our internal amends, the project is handed over to the agency on a password protected white-label domain (i.e. your-project.in-beta.co.uk) where you can review and also log any amends you would like actioning via BugHerd.

  • We give two full rounds of amends, that’s one for the agency, and one for the agency’s client – once done and you are happy, we sign of the project and then either launch the site onto a dev or live environment of your choice (we just need the logins), or we can send the files and DB over.

CodeTeam are part of Gooey, a white-label development agency based in Manchester, UK. We have been working with agencies since 2009 as their coding partner developing WordPress websites, HTML emails and helping with freelance front-end development.

All of our developers are UK based and employed full-time by Gooey. We are an alternative to freelance developers – agencies choose us over freelance developers as we have similar rates yet by using us you get added benefits such as account managers, project managers, a QA team, and backup developers in case the developer working on your project becomes ill etc.

We work 100% white-label, and can sign NDA’s before work commences.

  • What is a white label agency?

    In a nutshell you get a website or HTML email project, and pass it to us to code, then you deliver it to the client without them ever knowing we were involved. We work under NDA and with complete discretion.

  • Why outsource to a white label agency?

    There is many different reasons for agencies using our development services, some agencies have no developers, some have developers and use us when they have no internal resource or the skill-set, whatever the reason we are always happy to help 😊

    Choosing to outsource can be more efficient and flexible than hiring in-house developers, especially if workloads peak and trough throughout the year.

  • How long have you been in business for?

    We were founded in 2009, our parent company is Team Gooey Limited and Gooey Creative Limited, we also operate under trading names such as The Mail Factory, Doctype and CodeTeam.

  • Where are you based?

    We’re based in Manchester, we have an office at 202 Worsley Road, Manchester M27 5SN – you are welcome to visit anytime. Our developers are either based at our office or home-based.

  • When do you work?

    Our office hours are Monday-Friday 9.00am to 5.30pm, but we can work out of hours or on weekends if required. Just ask for details – we’ll always do our best to accommodate your requirements.

  • How big is your team?

    We have a team of 18, comprising of 12 developers, 2 partnership managers, a project manager, 2 QA specialists and a finance manager.

  • What are your payment terms?

    For emails and website projects under £500 we invoice on 28 day terms. For website development projects over the value of £500 we invoice a 25% deposit, and the remaining 75% on completion with 28 day terms.
